The following describes how to perform a
transaction using a Verifone. Use the PROMPTS / YOUR INPUT prompts
as
a guide as to what you should enter. Depending on what version
of the program you have some prompts may not be
used or may not be
in this order. Your terminal can do 3 functions SALE,
VOID, and BATCH

Your terminal may say the business name by default. Press the key installed on. Usually it is either 7 or 8. If you have an Omni terminal press the button next to 'CHECK'. It will then say select S key 1/9. Press the key installed on, usually 5. |

DRIVERS LICENSE |
Swipe the drivers license through the terminal. If the License does not have a magnetic stripe key in the number. If there are letters press the number key that has the letter and then press the ALPHA key to convert the number to the letter. |

ENTER STATE CODE |
Enter the state code. Use the guide below for proper state code number. You may also enter the 2 letter abbreviation as well. |

ENTER ACCOUNT |
Run check through reader. Check goes in left hand slot with the face of the check facing right. Check reader light should blink on & off. If it turns red try again. |

ITEM NUMBER |
Item number is the check number in the upper right corner of the check. |
|
AMOUNT OF SALE |
Enter the amount of the check. See the table labeled 'TERMINAL RESPONSES' below. |

DRIVERS LICENSE |
Enter the word BATCH. This will cause the terminal to print a report of the current days sales. You can add a digit from 1 to 5 after the word BATCH. This will cause the terminal to print a batch report from that many days ago. |
